Why This Matters

The CCDI data provides valuable insights into the disproportionate impact of civil legal issues on low-income communities. Yet, we have learned that effectively communicating the impact of this data is a significant challenge for our CCDI stakeholders at every level. We’re continuously learning from data visualization experts and storytellers who work in various mediums to improve our ability to inform and connect with others. In addition, we’ve partnered with Duke & Duck, a creative content studio located in DC to help us start storytelling in a new way.

The video below is the first in a series depicting how civil legal issues impact the lives of low-income Americans. Future videos will illustrate other civil legal issues, such as medical debt collection.
